DISCOVER THE POWER OF GROUPS AT FVCC
At Farmington Valley Counseling Center, our groups are designed to help participants build practical skills, strengthen confidence, and connect with others in a supportive environment. Whether your child needs help with emotional regulation, social skills, coping strategies, or connection with peers, we offer engaging, therapist-led groups for a range of ages and needs.
Our groups are:
Small and supportive (limited to 6–8 participants)
Led by experienced therapists who create a safe, encouraging space
Convenient with both in-person and online options
Affordable at $60 per session for ongoing groups, or $360 for 6-week specialty groups

INSURANCE INFORMATION:
Farmington Valley Counseling Center does not participate directly with insurance companies. However, we provide “superbills” with diagnostic and treatment codes (CPT Code 90853 for group therapy), which many clients submit for out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your benefits and reimbursement rates. FVCC does not submit claims or contact insurance companies on behalf of clients.

ELEMENTARY GROUPS
SOCIAL SMARTS - Grades 1-3 & Grades 4-6
A Superflex-Inspired Social Skills Group focused on building communication skills, positive peer interactions and flexible thinking
A supportive, activity-based group for kids with big feelings who need help building coping skills, calming strategies, emotional awareness, and self-control.
Grades 1-3, 5:00–6:00 PM
Grades 4-6, 6:15-7:15 PM

SUMMER FUN & SOCIAL SKILLS
A 6-Week Group for Grades 4-6
An engaging group for kids to practice turn-taking, flexible thinking, and sportsmanship while playing fun games with peers.
Saturdays, 4:00 – 5:00 PM
FVCC Farmington Office — 244 Main Street
Beginning July 11, 2026 (no group August 8th)

MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 6-8) &
HIGH SCHOOL (GRADES 9-12) GROUPS
CRAFTING & CONNECTING
*5th graders may be considered for Middle School Group.
6-Week Groups for Tweens & Teens
Creative social groups where middle and high schoolers connect through hands-on art projects, facilitated conversations, and time away from screens.
Middle School - Mondays, 6:00–7:00 PM
High School Group - Mondays, 7:15 - 8:15 PM
